The Place Standard Tool

The Place Standard tool has been developed by the Scottish Government, NHS Health Scotland and Architecture and Design Scotland. It is designed to engage communities and develop an understanding of how people feel about the area in which they live which can then inform good decision making, allowing resources to be targeted to where they are most needed. The tool can be used by public sector agencies, the third sector and community groups and more information on the tool can be found at www.placestandard.scot.

The Place Standard tool was introduced to Argyll and Bute Community Planning Partnership at the meeting of the Full Partnership in Oban in November 2016 and in the February Area Community Planning Group meetings. The tool is also currently being used as part of the Local Development Plan 2 consultation and once the results of the consultation are known, we should be able to share the findings of the tool in relation to a specific postcode area.
